Generative Truss Design for the Technion Bridge

PROJECT
The Technion campus in Haifa is situated within challenging topographical conditions. As part of the design of a new pedestrian bridge, computational methods were employed to support the development and manufacturing of its structural system. The approximately 115 m-long bridge required the coordination of architectural geometry, structural requirements, and fabrication constraints.

APPROACH
As CTO of ParaGroup, my work focused on computational modeling of the truss system. A parametric model was developed to generate key structural components according to architectural and engineering guidelines. The workflow automated the production of 3D CAD models and shop drawings, connecting geometric development with downstream manufacturing.

CONTRIBUTION
The project demonstrates how parametric modeling can support the transition from design intent to fabrication information in a complex, large-scale architectural project.
